MY WORK
is about what lies within
after everything has been stripped away,
when all is bared to its essence.
Hands form and shape contours of what is not visible.
Gestures replace words, evoking memories and
emotions.
Forms break apart, transform, and metamorphosize.
Spirals of steel trace emotional trajectories in the sky.
Bronzes beg to be touched.
Being inside my body;
a sculpture contains a universe.
Following studies at L’Universita di Firenze, Italy and a
Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA,
Victoria shifted her life to Italy, where she lived
and worked for several years. A self-taught artist, her
teachers were the ancient ruins, Renaissance ideals of
beauty, museums filled with treasures, family-run bronze
foundries, fellow generous artists, and centuries of art
encountered every day.
Currently residing in Santa Barbara, Victoria works with local
artisans and metalworkers to realize diverse projects.
Her sculptures are held in private collections in Italy,
Switzerland, Germany, Israel, and the United States.
Bronze sculptures are in editions of three and five;
steel, aluminum, and neon works are in editions of three.
